When washing your hair, you must follow your doctor’s recommendations and instructions. Your doctor will tell you how to wash your hair, when to start washing your hair after planting and how often to wash it.

Shampoo and Lotion to be Used After Hair Transplantation

• Special shampoos that do not contain harmful chemicals should be used after hair transplantation. Use the shampoo and lotion we will give you for the period recommended by our expert.

How to Wash Hair After Hair Transplantation?

Hair Washing Stage

• Do not apply pressure to your scalp while washing. However, avoid contacting your nails with your skin. Especially in the first 5 days after the operation, you should act gently and slowly during the washing process.
• First, gently rub the emollient lotion given to you on your scalp (both the donor area and the recipient area) and wait for the crusts to soften. This period may vary from person to person. You can wait as long as your doctor recommends. The emollient lotion helps cell regeneration, moisturizes the skin and softens the crusts.
• After the crusts soften, rinse with warm water and proceed to the shampooing phase.
• Do not pour the shampoo directly on your head. First, take it in your hand and make a foam, then gently apply it to your head.
• Spread the foam in vertical motions with your fingers without touching your nails to your scalp. Avoid making circular movements in the transplanted area. Take care to apply both the shampoo and the lotion in the same direction as the grafts.

How Should Water Temperature and Water Pressure Be?

Hair Rinse Stage

• Make sure the water is warm. Do not allow steam accumulation in the bathroom.
• Do not go directly under the shower. High water pressure damages your hair follicles. Take care to wash your head gently with the help of a bowl.

How to Dry Hair After Washing ?

Hair Drying Stage

• At the end of the bath, dry your hair with a thin soft towel such as a paper towel or kitchen towel. Be sure not to apply pressure or rub your skin while drying. Just tap lightly.
• If you are going to use a hair dryer, make sure to use it in cold air mode and at a distance from your head.
• Let it dry on its own as much as possible.

Hair Washing in the Following Weeks (3rd – 4th Weeks)

If crusting persists, continue using the lotion. After the lotion, you can apply the shampoo by gently massaging your skin. When the crusts disappear, you can stop using the lotion. However, you should continue to use the shampoo for the period recommended by our expert. The risky period is completed 1 month after the hair transplant operation. You can return to your normal life and use a towel while drying your hair.
